APPLICATIONS:
1. Substantive character and unique feel make IOTA-1401 Fluid well suited for skin creams and lotions, cosmetics, sun screen and tanning products. It can be readily emulsified or combined with volatile silicone, mineral oil and cosmetic esters to provide a delivery vehicle for active ingredients such as sun screens.
2. Provides a soft silky feel and conditioning from hair care products. It is particularly useful against split ends.

DESCRIPTION:
IOTA 1401 Fluid is a 13% solution of an ultra-high viscosity dimethiconol fluid in a blend of cyclotetrasiloxane and
cyclopentasiloxane. These cyclomethicones have been specially blended to prevent freezing and the dimethiconol level selected to maintain a pourable product.
HOW TO USE?
IOTA 1401 Fluid improves the substantivity of other actives, under both water soaking and soap washing regimes. It is therefore possible to incorporate IOTA 1401 Fluid into skin care products to provide a water repellent, durable film. These actives may include sunscreens, emollients and moisturizers.
IOTA 1401 Fluid can also be used to prepare water resistant or waterproof sunscreen lotions with exceptional spreading characteristics.
FORMULATION TIPS:
Emulsion products:
1. IOTA 1401 Fluid can be incorporated directly into the oil phase of the formulation.
2. If temperatures above 60°C (140°F) are being used to melt the oil phase, IOTA-1401 Fluid should be added slowly after the formation of the emulsion, and below 50°C (122°F), using a high shear mixer.
Non-emulsion products:
It is advisable to add the cosmetic ingredients to the silicone and not vice versa as often ultra-high molecular weight dimethiconol is insoluble with the cosmetic ingredients.
STORAGE
Product should be stored at or below 25°C (77°F) in original, unopened containers.
IOTA 1401 Fluid is flammable with a flash point of 52°C (126°F). Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames.
