Description
IOTA 6080 is a pure methyl solid silicone resin with a very high silica content with excellent heat resistance and minimal smoke; High reactivity, strong adhesion performance, high hardness, good scratch resistance.
Technical index
Appearance: Colorless to light yellow transparent solid
Solid content: 100%
Volatile content(150ºC, 1h): ≤ 3 %
Softening point: 95-110ºC
Solubility in toluene (1:1): Clear and transparent
Application
1.Insulation bonding of laminates.
2. Resistive insulating coatings, providing excellent temperature resistance at the same time, giving excellent stability (no smoke, no cracking) and scratch damage resistance.
Handling precautions
1. Used to prepare the coating or binder with solvent, it is recommended to select toluene or xylene as a solvent, fully dissolve the resin and then paint, the dissolution process can be moderately heated (≤ 60 °C), it is necessary to filter with a 200 mesh filter cloth before use and observe whether the filtrate is clear.
2. Used to prepare resistive insulating coating with powder resin, it is necessary to ensure that the resin and pigment filler are fully mixed and wrapped.
Package and Storage
1. 25/50/200kg plastic lined paper drum.
2. The storage conditions are recommended to be 5~36 °C, sealed storage in a cool and dry environment, and the shelf life is generally 12 months from the date of production (it can still be used after the expiration analysis).
1. What is pure methyl silicone?
Pure methyl silicone is an organosilicon compound with high chemical stability and high temperature resistance. It is usually polymerized from methylsiloxane.
2. What are the main uses of pure methyl silicone?
Pure methyl silicone is commonly used in coatings, sealants, adhesives and surface coatings. It is widely used in industry and construction due to its resistance to high temperatures, weathering and chemical stability.
3. How is it prepared?
Methods for preparing pure methyl silicone generally involve the synthesis and polymerization of siloxanes. This involves polymerizing methylsilane monomers into long chain molecules to form a resin structure.
4. What are the characteristics of pure methyl silicone?
Typical properties include high temperature resistance, chemical resistance, electrical insulation and flexibility. It may also have good adhesion and excellent UV resistance.
5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of pure methyl silicone?
Advantages include high temperature stability, chemical stability and versatility. Disadvantages may include higher preparation costs and possible mechanical property limitations for certain uses.
