intro


IOTA-5118AB is a low viscosity additive formed two-component room temperature curing silicon gel, which has good fluidity before curing. After curing with a mixture ratio of 1:1, silicon gel with very low hardness can be quickly heat-cured. The silicone gel has a completely transparent appearance, good surface viscosity, and excellent mechanical damping properties. In addition, IOTA-5118AB can change the mixing ratio of AB agent according to different application conditions to obtain silicon gels with different hardness to meet different application requirements.

Surface treatment
All substrates to be constructed shall undergo a surface cleaning process to ensure that the silicon gel can cure normally. The main substances that cause abnormal solidification of silicon gels are sulfur containing substances, plasticizers, polyurethanes, ammoni- containing substances, phosphorus containing substances and organometallic compounds (such as tin and lead). When it is not known whether the substrate surface is a toxic catalyst, a small amount of substrate should be selected for curing test.

Mixed
IOTA-5118AB contains A catalyst in component B and A crosslinker in component A. The two components can be mixed 1:1 by volume ratio or mass ratio. Bubbles will be generated in the process of mixing or dispensing, so it needs to be debubbled by a vacuum debubbling process.

Solidify
IOTA-5118A/B can select different curing temperatures according to different application conditions. The higher the temperature, the faster the curing speed. Different curing temperatures such as 25ºC, 100ºC and 150ºC can be selected.

Storage condition
IOTA-5118A/B keeps the factory sealed original packaging and can be stored at least 6 months at 5-30ºC. If the product exceeds its shelf life, it can be used with caution after critical quality testing.

Matters needing attention
1. IOTA-5118A/B must not contain direct contact with phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), nitrogen (N), organotin (Sn), water, polyurethane, acrylate compounds and other catalytic poisons during use and storage, so as to avoid the phenomenon of curing obstruction and deterioration.
2. Only when the A and B components are the same batch number can they be mixed.
3. When dispensing glue manually, pay attention to the cleaning of the mixing tools, and pay special attention to avoid contaminating agent A or agent B in the rubber bucket through the dispensing tools.
4. The mixed glue should be used up within the prescribed time as far as possible, and the glue mixed by hand should be used up within 1h; The glue in the automatic mixing machine should pay attention to the regular discharge of glue, otherwise it is easy to cause the glue to not cure.
5. IOTA-5118A/B is sensitive to heat, and high temperature should be avoided during storage and operation. After the use of agent A and agent B, the unused glue can not be poured into the original package, so as not to pollute the unused glue.
6. After IOTA-5118A/B two-component mixture, the gel will slowly cure at room temperature. Before use, the product should be weighed after determining the amount of use to avoid waste.
7. If the gel is too soft or sticky, a harder gel can be obtained by reducing the amount of component B. The ratio of A:B can be 1.1:1, 1.2:1, 1.3:1, 1.4:1, 1.5:1, 1.6:1, etc.
8. If the product needs to be dyed, the required dye can be added to the product and mixed evenly to obtain silicon gel of different colors.
